Fish Numbers Report: July 23, 2025
Thanks to a special bonus run summary from Fish and Game, this report has all the pertinent catch numbers and more. The eastside is still going strong, as the Naknek-Kvichak district held the highest catch and the Alagnak river the greatest escapement.

Of all the rivers across the bay, Togiak held the highest escapement yesterday, as not one of them passed 10,000. We’re 3 million fish above the total run forecast while the season is still coming to a gradual halt.

Catch numbers are evening out across the districts, with each one hauling in over 100,000 fish. The bay is also 1 million above its total run forecast, as the tail end of the salmon run is on its way.

The daily catch for Naknek-Kvichak surpassed a million yesterday for the first time this season, and their total run succeeded 10 million. Port Moller is keeping up their steady harvest and hints further that the run is likely to be larger than expected.

Bristol Bay has officially passed its preseason run forecast, with a total count of 51.7 million fish! The Naknek-Kvichak also surpassed its forecast, as catch and escapement are still sustained across the districts.
