FedEx Plane Back in Service

The large Fedex plane that made an emergency landing Friday at the King Salmon Airport was back in the air that evening.  Scott Fiedler is a spokesperson for FedEx.   He says aircraft maintenance crews were dispatched from Anchorage.

"They found an indication of a manifold issue, that was the reason the aircraft was sat down in King Salmon.  They were able to quickly identify it, trouble shoot it, and fix it.  The aircraft was on the ground for about eight hours," said Fiedler.

The MD 11 was flying from Incheon, South Korea to Anchorage with a crew of two when it landed in King Salmon just before 1 p.m. Friday afternoon.   It was carrying overnight packages from around Asia sent to the United States.
