Bristol Bay Fisheries Report: July 19, 2023
The Bristol Bay run is slowing down, but still had a strong harvest yesterday of 722,000 fish. Total harvest is now at 35.3 million, and total escapement is at 12.8 million. The total bay-wide run is estimated at 48.2 million fish.

Bristol Bay Fisheries Report: July 12, 2023
The bay-wide harvest dropped somewhat Tuesday with 723,000 fish hauled in. Catches were about neck-in-neck in Egegik, Naknek, and the Nushagak with around a quarter million fish each. The bay-wide escapement is at 8 million fish. The total run is at 32.7 million.

Bristol Bay Fisheries Report: July 1, 2023
Bristol Bay fishing crews saw a big push of salmon yesterday, putting their first "million fish day" of the season in the books. Fleets across the bay harvested over 1.5 million fish on Friday with Egegik and Nushagak crews banking over 600,000 salmon each and the Naknek-Kvichak district re-opening fishing in time to haul in almost 300,000. Total run in Bristol Bay is coming up on nine million.

Bristol Bay Fisheries Report: July 6, 2023
It’s the historic mid-point of the season. And, stormy weather didn’t put a damper on crews on Wednesday who hauled in 2.3 million fish bay-wide. The Naknek-Kvichak fleet almost topped a million yesterday, almost. They caught 983,000 fish, followed by Nushagak with 750,000 harvested. The total run is now 22.2 million.

Bristol Bay Fisheries Report: July 11, 2023
Bristol Bay fleets had another strong harvest day Monday with 1.8 million fish caught bay-wide. The biggest catch was in the Nushagak, followed closely by the Naknek-Kvichak. Escapement is at 7.5 million fish, and the total bay-wide run is at 31.1 million.

Bristol Bay Fisheries Report: July 9, 2023
The bay-wide catch dropped to 505,000 fish on Saturday. Ugashik fleets brought in the biggest catch of the day, hauling in almost one third of that with 164,000 fish, followed by the Naknek-Kvichak with almost 160,000. The total run is an estimated 27.5 million fish.

Bristol Bay Fisheries Report: June 24, 2023
Egegik fleets hauled in the biggest harvest again on Friday. Nushagak fleets are launching en masse but the trigger for an opening has not been met yet - escapement was at 199,000 in the Nushagak River as of this morning, and must reach at least 420,000 sockeye.

Bristol Bay Fisheries Report: July 13, 2023
The bay-wide catch slowed down some on Wednesday, but still almost half a million fish were caught yesterday. Almost half of that was in Egegik with 216,000 fish followed by the Naknek-Kvichak. The total run is now at 34.5 million.

Bristol Bay Fisheries Report: July 14, 2023
Just when we thought the run was slowing down, Thursday was the second biggest harvest day of the season to date with 2.5 million fish hauled in bay-wide. Naknek-Kvichak fleets caught 1.2 million of that. Escapement was also a strong 1.2 million. The total run is now 37 million fish.
