KDLG/Isabelle Ross

KDLG hosts Izzy Ross and Tyler Thompson are trying something new this week a round up of the week's stories and interviews from around Bristol Bay.

The state hunt for the Mulchatna Caribou Herd closes tonight at 11:59 p.m. The closure comes a month after federal managers closed the hunt on federal lands. Izzy talked to Lauren Watine, the area wildlife biologist for the Alaska Department of Fish and Game in Dillingham, about the state’s decision to shut down the hunt. Below is the long version of their interview.

2020 will be a big year for Dillingham, as a ton of projects are set to kick off starting in Spring. City Manager Tod Larson mosied on down to KDLG for another round of Manager’s Corner, to share some updates with the community and what to expect going into construction season.

It's basketball season! We had the RAVN invite here in Dillingham last weekend, and a bunch of teams are in Naknek right now, playing against the Bristol Bay Angels. We caught up with guest sports commentator Kendra Kapotak on what she’s seeing in Bristol Bay basketball this season.
