Results from the Dillingham Invitational Cross County Race

High school cross country runners from across the Bristol Bay region competed in Dillingham last Saturday in the final tune up before this week’s regional competition in Naknek. The annual Dillingham Invitational cross country race was held at the Kanakanak Hospital and it featured runners from the Bristol Bay and Dillingham School Districts along with runners from Koliganek, New Stuyahok, Togiak, Aleknagik, and Manokotak. The fastest high school girl to race on Saturday was Kara Andrew from New Stuyahok. She covered the course in a time of 22:13. Hannah Berkoski from Dillingham placed 2nd with a time of 22:26. Lena Coolidge from Dillingham placed 3rd with a time of 22:57-seconds. Anna Hansen from the Bristol Bay Borough School District placed 4th with a time of 23:36-seconds. Emily McArthur from Dillingham placed 5th by covering the course in a time of 24:30-seconds. The fastest time of the day was in the boys cross country race where Miles King from the Bristol Bay Borough School District covered the course in 16:13-seconds. He took first. Casey Konukpeck from New Stuyahok took second with a time of 18:13. Dillingham’s Martin Gardiner placed 3rd with a time of 18:31. Noah Smith from Bristol Bay was 4th with a time of 18:37. 5th place was claimed by Cole Dull from Koliganik with a time of 18:48. Many of the runners who participated in last Saturday’s Dillingham Invitational will be competing in regionals, which will be held on Friday and Saturday in Naknek.
