Alaska Board of Fish member Sue Jeffrey joins to discuss the day, the process, and her role in helping decide fish policy in the state.

Sue Jeffrey, Alaska Board of Fish

On the fifth day of the Alaska Board of Fish meeting focused on Bristol Bay, board members deliberated the remaining group 3 proposals, starting on 64, and finished committee work on group 4 proposals as well.  The day heard debate on requiring flood fishing time for the Nushagak drift fleet, and how to move forward with a special harvest area in the Wood River, even if that means repealing it. The back half of the day saw discussion on a dozen proposals related to sport, subsistence, and commercial herring fishing. Board deliberations on group three proposals is expected to begin Monday morning.
