Ahead of the Oct. 7 municipal elections, KDLG is talking with candidates about why they are running and what they want to focus on if elected.

The Lake and Peninsula Borough election will be conducted by mail. Borough officials say ballots were sent out to voters and can be filled out and sent back right away. The deadline for sending in the ballot is Oct. 7 and it must arrive at the clerk’s office by Nov. 7 to be counted.

Local elections are approaching in the Bristol Bay region. The City of Dillingham, the Lake and Peninsula Borough, and the Bristol Bay Borough will all hold local elections on Oct. 7.
