The Nushagak District saw a huge pulse of fish on Friday. Half a million sockeye swam past the Nushagak River sonar. More than a quarter million escaped up the Wood River. Nushagak’s commercial harvest was a bit more tempered than earlier in the week, but still the largest of the districts. More than 1 million fish returned to the bay on Friday.

Across the bay, fleets hauled in another mighty 2.6 million fish, for a season harvest total of 43.8 million. The Naknek-Kvichak saw its biggest harvest of the season so far - with 900,000 sockeye in their nets. And the Kvichak River met its escapement goal of 2 million fish.

Fleets across the bay hauled in 2.8 million fish. The Naknek-Kvichak fleet saw its biggest harvest of the season so far, hauling in 800,000 fish. The Nushagak fleet broke its streak of million-fish days – falling just short. The Nushagak’s king run has come to a standstill, with the second day of no Chinook counted past the sonar.

3.4 million fish came through Bristol Bay yesterday. The Nushagak District is now on its third biggest run of all time and has its third largest harvest of all time as well with weeks left in the season.

The Nushagak fleet pulled in its seventh daily harvest of over a million fish this season. Escapement in the Naknek-Kvichak is picking up: The Kvichak saw a huge push of salmon swim upriver, as did the Alagnak.

Bristol Bay had 3.8 million fish come through the region on Saturday, the baywide run is now 53.8 million. The Nushagak District harvested another million fish and harvest there is now the second largest for the district on record.

Naknek-Kvichak fleets brought in more than half of Monday’s harvest. The bay’s total catch is now at 57 million sockeye, and the total run is at 74.5 million.

Bristol Bay’s total run is at 75.3 million sockeye. The Naknek-Kvichak fleet hauled in the largest catch of the day again, at more than a quarter-million fish. And Area M fisherfolk caught 268,315 salmon for a total harvest of 9.45 million.

The bay’s run is at 73.7 million sockeye. Harvests have dropped off around the bay, but fleets still hauled in just over half a million fish on Sunday. Naknek-Kvichak fishermen caught most of the daily harvest. Another quarter-million fish escaped up rivers across the bay. The bay’s total harvest this season is at 56.3 million fish.
