Fully vaccinated OBI Seafoods worker tests positive for COVID-19 in Dillingham

People who are vaccinated against COVID-19 can still test positive for the disease, though those cases are rare.

A seafood worker who is fully vaccinated against COVID-19 tested positive for the disease in Dillingham. 

The worker is stationed at OBI Seafoods’ Wood River plant. The company reported that the worker tested positive on Monday, the City of Dillingham said in an announcement Wednesday. The worker was asymptomatic when they tested positive, and is now in isolation.

People who are vaccinated against COVID-19 can still test positive for the disease, though those cases are rare.

The state public health has started contact tracing. OBI has announced it has increased testing at its facility.
