Welcome to this weekend numbers edition of the Bristol Bay Fisheries Report. Registration is still picking up in the Naknek-Kvichak and Egegik’s harvest is up past ten million.

On the West Side, The Nushagak brought in 505,000 fish yesterday, putting the cumulative up to 13.2 million. Escapement in the Nush was 98,000 yesterday and 2.25 million on the season. Breaking that down by river, 77,000 fish swam past the Wood River tower, 20,000 up the Nushagak, and 700 were in the Igushik.

The Togiak caught 17,000 fish yesterday. The season cumulative there is 269,000. Escapement in the Togiak was 2,800 yesterday as part of a cumulative of 27,000.

On the east side, Egegik had the biggest catch yesterday, hauling in 720,000. The cumulative in the district is 10.2 million this year. Egegik escapement was 216,000 as part of a cumulative of 1.6 million.

The Nankek-Kvichak wasn’t far behind, catching 637,000 yesterday, contributing to a cumulative of just a hair under 8 million. The district saw an escapement of 216,000, bringing the cumulative up to just under 3 million.

Ugashik didn’t fish yesterday, leaving the cumulative at 325,000. That district had an escapement of 10 and a half thousand yesterday, bringing the cumulative up to 92 and a half thousand on the season.

As far as vessel registration goes, the Naknek-Kvichak is seeing the biggest jumps with numbers still going down in the Nushagak.

The Naknek-Kvichak had 652 permits as of 9AM today, and that number will go up to 740 at the same time Monday. The vessel count will jump from 513 to 591, and the the D-Boat count will go from 139 to 149.\

Staying on the East Side, Egegik will lose some permits, dropping from 473 to 463. The district will also drop six permits, going from 352 to 346 and 121 D-Boats to 117.

The Nushagak is still gradually slowing down, with the permit count going from 400 to 388 for the start of next week. It’ll also drop ten vessels, going from 323 to 313. A couple D-boats will leave as well, dropping the count from 77 to 75.

The Ugashik is gaining a few, with permits going from 95 to 107 for Monday. The vessel count there will jump from 72 to 80 and the number of D-Boats will go from 23 to 27.

Things are still staying flat in Togiak, with 42 permits and 42 vessels all weekend.

Over at the Chignik Weir, we have the numbers from yesterday. 323,500 sockeye had been counted, with 57,000 of them belonging to the late run.

Our reporter was in Chignik this past week, and we’ll have a report in the next few days with more on the dire situation in that fishery.

Taking a look now at the Daily harvest report from Area M, the South Peninsula catch is up to 588,500 sockeye and 9.6 million pinks.

On the North Side of the Peninsula, they’ve gt 1.2 million sockeye this year.

Port Moller didn’t put out any numbers yesterday, as their boat was getting some mechanical issues patched up, but they’ll be back out late this afternoon starting at station 4. We’ll have their updates from tonight’s efforts on the show tomorrow.

We’ll close things out with our messages to the fleet this afternoon.  Just one message came into the inbox today, and here it is.
