The Bristol Bay Area Health Corporation says it’s modifying its operations due to widespread community transmission of COVID-19 in the region. It announced the shift in a news release on Friday.

The changes affect the health corporation’s outpatient clinic, village clinics and services in the dental, eye, lab and audiology departments.
Pre-operation, prenatal and specialty clinic appointments will still be in person. But most other appointments will be conducted over the phone, and the health care provider can schedule a follow-up in-person visit.
People who do have in-person appointments must have a negative COVID-19 test to enter the facility.
In the past week, 38 people in the Dillingham area have tested positive for COVID-19. Eleven of those cases are in the City of Dillingham.
