Northern Dynasty Minerals Appoints a Mining Consultant to its Board of Directors

Northern Dynasty Minerals, which is one half of the Pebble Limited Partnership, has a new member of its board of directors. Ken Pickering is an engineer with 40-years of experience in the mining industry. In a prepared statement Northern Dynasty Minerals notes that Pickering has led large mining projects in Canada, Chile, Australia, Peru and here in the U.S. Pickering oversaw the construction and development of the Escondida mine in Chile, which at the time was the largest copper mine on earth. Most recently, Pickering was a vice president with BHP Billiton Base metals in Santiago, Chile. He currently works as a private mining consultant. Northern Dynasty’s President and CEO is quoted as saying that Pickering background and expertise will make a valuable contribution to the future success of Northern Dynasty and the Pebble Project.
