Bristol Bay's health corporation dismantles its COVID-19 Incident Command System

The Bristol Bay Area Health Corporation is standing down the Hospital Incident Command System it created in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. It will begin to dismantle the system today and integrate its COVID-19 response efforts into everyday operations.

In BBAHC’s announcement Friday, it said it decided to make the shift because COVID-19 now poses less of a risk to the region.

The incident command team was set up to develop and implement plans to address COVID-19 throughout Bristol Bay.

BBAHC said that the region has seen relatively few cases of COVID-19, due largely to the collaboration of organizations, Tribes, municipalities, and Bristol Bay residents.

If you or a household member is experiencing flu-like symptoms or were exposed to COVID-19, contact your local health care clinic or the hospital in Dillingham.

COVID-19 vaccines are available to everyone in Bristol Bay 12 years old and older. You can schedule a vaccine in Dillingham at the Dillingham Public Health clinic and Kanakanak Hospital and in the Bristol Bay Borough at the Camai Community Health Center. In other communities you can call your local health clinic to schedule a vaccine.
