Funeral services for Bobby Andrew to be held this weekend

Panikhída will be held each day at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., with the funeral service at noon on Saturday at St. Seraphim.

Elder Bobby Andrew was a leading voice in the movement to protect Bristol Bay against development. He was found dead at his cabin at Lake Aleknagik this week at the age of 73.

Funeral services will be held this weekend:

Orthodox memorial services, Panikhída, will be held Thursday evening at 6 p.m. and Friday at 10 a.m. at the yellow house at the end of Wood River Road. Bishop David will arrive Friday, and Friday evening's Panikhída will be held at 6 p.m. at St. Seraphim of Sarov Orthodox Church.

The funeral service will be at noon on Saturday at St. Seraphim. Andrew will then be brought up to North Shore of Aleknagik for a brief viewing for friends and family at Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church. Burial will be near the church.

A potluck will follow on Saturday evening in the Dillingham Middle School gym. If anyone would like to drop off food beforehand, bring dishes to the yellow house or to the Home-Ec room in the school.
