Dillingham & Bristol Bay Under Burn Ban

From the Dillingham fire chief, Norman Heyano:

Due to the low humidity and dryness the city of Dillingham is instituting a burn ban within the city limits. All burn permits will be suspended as of June 15, 2013. All burn piles and burn barrels need to be put out and fireworks are prohibited. The use of campfires, warming or cooking fires is still permissible, but is strongly discouraged. If lighting a campfire, warming or cooking fire, do not leave it unattended and make sure it is dead before you leave it, using water and a shovel. This burn ban is in effect until further notice.

From the Bristol Bay borough fire chief:

Based on NOAA’s red flag warning… the Bristol Bay borough has issued a burn ban, starting immediately and remaining in place until Monday, June 24th at 10am. At that time, an update will be given. Fireworks are prohibited during the burn ban.
