The WAISC forum drew experts to Dillingham to present on a wide range of topics of interest to Western Alaskans. We asked a few of them to pitch us their research in 30 seconds or less.
The 2016 Western Alaska Interdisciplinary Science Conference attracted experts in fisheries science, environmental health, solid waste, energy, green building, climate change, and other fields to Dillingham's Bristol Bay Campus this week.
The presenters included local experts as well as researchers from the University of Alaska and abroad, and their topics ranged from bed bugs to biofoams to forest health in Western Alaska. KDLG couldn't cover it all, but we asked a few people to give us their elevator speeches, and this is what we learned.
