Incumbents to run unopposed in Bristol Bay Borough's local election

Two seats are open on both the Borough Assembly and school board. Mary Swain and Clyde E. Clark will run again for assembly. School board president Michael Swain and board member Olaf O’Domin also return to the ballot.

Candidates for the Bristol Bay Borough’s local election in October will run unopposed for two seats on the Borough Assembly and school board respectively.

Assembly incumbents Mary Swain and Clyde E. Clark will run for their seats at three year terms. School board president Michael Swain and board member Olaf O’Domin also return to the ballot for three year terms. There is an option for write-in candidates in both races.

Absentee and Early Voting starts this week, Monday September 20, in the Borough Assembly Chambers, weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to noon and 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. through Monday, October 4. A person with a disability can vote through a personal representative during these times.

To vote by-mail, voters must request an absentee ballot before Monday September 27. Those applications can be found on the borough’s website.

Polls open to all registered voters October 5 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Voter Registration:

To vote in this election, people must be registered with the State of Alaska and be a resident of the borough 30 days before the election.

Borough Voting Precincts:

People may vote on October 5 in the borough’s three precincts:

  • King Salmon, in the Village Council Building
  • Naknek, in the Bristol Bay Borough Assembly Chambers
  • South Naknek, in the Recreation hall
