Bristol Bay celebrates 2019 graduates

Students around Bristol Bay are about to start summer vacation. For seniors, it’s a significant time of year. They have celebrated prom and taken their finals. Now, they are graduating. Dillingham congratulated the 37 seniors Friday.

The Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation issued a boil water notice for New Stuyahok more than a month ago. Since then, efforts to lift the notice have been hampered by breaks in the city's water lines.

Dillingham had a strong showing at Saturday's regionals; the team will be sending 12 boys and three girls to the Wrestling State Championships. New Stuyahok and King Cove each qualified four athletes for state; Bristol Bay Borough qualified two; Manokotak, Newhalen and Sand Point are each sending one athlete.

New Stuyahok Man Arrested for hitting VPSO

A New Stuyahok man was arrested Saturday for allegedly hitting the VPSO.  According to state troopers, the VPSO responded after reports of a fight involving 21 year old Bradley Bond. 

Troopers say that as the VPSO investigated, Bond struck the officer.  He was then arrested and taken to the Dillingham jail. Bond faces charges of Assault 4 and disorderly conduct.
