Young woman found dead in skiff near New Stuyahok

The Alaska Bureau of Investigation has sent crime scene technicians to assist the investigation.

  

A young woman was found dead in a skiff along the shores of New Stuyahok, according to an Alaska State Trooper dispatch post

 

Rachel Alexandra Hanson was 25 years old and a resident of New Stuyahok. Her next of kin has been notified. The investigation surrounding her death is ongoing. The troopers reported that her remains were sent to the State Medical Examiner to determine the cause of her death.

 

On Sunday afternoon, troopers responded after Kanakanak Hospital notified them that Hanson was found.

Correction: the person found was Rachel Alexandra Hanson, not Rebecca, as the troopers originally reported.
