Walt Creasey, Jr., was a loving father, wonderful papa, a great friend, a retired member of the U.S. Navy, a hard worker, a volunteer fire department and EMT/Rescue squad member, and so much more.  He died July 24, 2021, at Kanakanak Hospital in Dillingham. He was 66.

Walter R. Creasey Jr., also known as Walt, Papa, Wally or Stewy age 66, went to be with his Lord on July 24, 2021 at Kanakanak Hospital, in Dillingham, Alaska.  He is survived by his family: wife Paula; children Jason, Jami, Nohelani, Sebastian and Erik; eight grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

Walt was a loving father, wonderful papa, a great friend, a retired member of the U.S. Navy who served on the USS Roger's destroyer boat, a hard worker, a volunteer fire department and EMT/Rescue squad member, and so much more.  He was a hard-working, selfless man who dedicated his time to helping his community.  Walt worked as an electrician for Southwest Region Schools, Nushagak Telephone and Electric, and the State of Alaska Department of Transportation in Dillingham, starting in the 80’s well into the 2000’s. His work brought him to the communities of Dillingham, Aleknagik, Clarks Point, Ekwok, Koliganek, Manokotak, New Stuyahok, Togiak, Twin Hills, King Salmon, Pilot Point and many more. His electrical skill and common sense approach made him a sought after asset to locals in Southwest Alaska.  If you needed an electrician, Walt was your first phone call.

He had the ability to have a witty comeback for almost any conversation, something that he definitely passed on to everyone in the family.  He taught us what it means to be a wonderful father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Walt never liked to be the center of attention.  If he were with us now, he would want us to take the focus off of him and put it on us.  He would not want us to focus on the sadness of his death, but instead laugh and smile about the memories we have of him.

Services for Walt will be held at a later date and the family will make notifications.
