Two people killed in hit-and-run incident in Naknek

Bristol Bay Borough police have located the vehicle, driver, and passengers involved, all of whom cooperated, according to Chief Officer John Rhysheck. The investigation is ongoing. 

Two people were killed in a hit-and-run incident in Naknek, according to a news release from the Bristol Bay Borough Police Department.

Police responded around 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday after a vehicle struck two people.

Timothy Zacharias Jacob, 43, of Napaskiak, was killed on impact. Anchorage resident Vincent Dean Martin, 33, died shortly after the incident, as first responders were preparing to medevac him.

Family members of the deceased have been notified. 

According to Chief Officer John Rhysheck, the borough police investigated the incident and located the vehicle, driver, and passengers. Rhysheck says that those involved have cooperated. Police suspect that alcohol was involved.  

The investigation is ongoing.
