A person fell into open water while snow machining on the Nushagak River near Koliganek on Friday. Troopers caution against riding on the ice.

Alaska State Troopers are searching for a person who fell into open water while snow machining on the Nushagak River near Koliganek on Friday. Troopers are in the preliminary stages of investigating the incident, and few details are available.

Ice on the Nushagak River is thin, and AST advises against traveling on the ice. Troopers also recommend travelling only during daylight hours.
