Dillingham man arrested for alleged sexual abuse of minors

Devin Darrough, 56, was arrested Thursday for allegedly sexually abusing two children multiple times over the past two years.

A Dillingham man was arrested Thursday night for allegedly sexually abusing children. Alaska State Troopers said that they received a report in July that Devin Darrough, 56, abused two children under the age of 13 multiple times over two years. Darrough was indicted on two felony counts of sexual abuse of a minor in the second degree. Law enforcement arrested Darrough and transported him to Dillingham Jail. He was arranged on Friday in Dillingham Court.

Western Alaska has the highest reported rate of felony sex offenses in the state. According to the Alaska Department of Public Safety, the rate of reported felony sex offenses in the region, which includes Bristol Bay, is more than twice the statewide rate. The most common age of victims is 13 years old.
