An injured crewman was successfully medevaced Monday from the bulk carrier Anne Mette in the Bering Sea. A Jayhawk helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Kodiak met the Anne Mette about 200 miles southwest of Adak and hoisted the injured crewman aboard.
The crewman was then taken to Adak where he was transferred to a HC-130 airplane. He was taken to Anchorage for emergency medical care. The unnamed crewman suffered multiple injuries during a fall. The 606-foot Anne Mette is flagged out of the United Kingdom and is homeported in Douglas on the Isle of Man.
