BBRSDA Waypoints

The fourth episode of Waypoints Radio features a discussion with UAF’s Curry Cunningham and UW’s Ray Hilborn and Daniel Schindler about research activities going on in Bristol Bay.

BBRSDA is producing a weekly, in-season radio show called Waypoints Radio, as an extension of their monthly email newsletter. The Waypoints Radio show airs on KDLG 670am each Thursday at 12:30pm during the fishing season.

The fourth episode of Waypoints Radio features a discussion with UAF’s Curry Cunningham and UW’s Ray Hilborn and Daniel Schindler about research activities going on in Bristol Bay. From using artificial intelligence to improve forecasting, to mapping spawning stocks with strontium isotopes, to quantifying the environmental impact of commercial salmon fishing, and more, don’t miss this fascinating discussion about Bristol Bay salmon with world-class scientists.

The University of Washington’s Alaska Salmon Program provides daily updates that track the Bristol Bay salmon run, as well as more detailed periodic in-season reports. In addition, BBRSDA is posting daily harvest updates at bbrsda.com which plots the year-to-date harvest in total and by region against
the previous five-year average.

BBRSDA is an underwriter with KDLG. Waypoints is produced by BBRSDA, and those things said on Waypoints don’t necessarily reflect the views of KDLG staff, management, or board of directors.
