Eight COVID-19 cases reported in the Dillingham area this week so far, including in Dillingham

The cases are in four communities, including the City of Dillingham. Four are related to travel, and four are close contacts of a previous case. 

Eight people in four communities in the Dillingham area have tested positive for COVID-19 this week. The Bristol Bay Area Health Corporation reported seven cases on Wednesday and another on Thursday. BBAHC said that the latest case was a person in Dillingham who was showing symptoms. The state health team is contact tracing.

 

In all, three of the people who tested positive this week are in the City of Dillingham. Two are residents, while the other doesn’t live in the region. 

 

Four of the cases are related to travel, and the other four are close contacts of a previous case. 

 

There are currently 50 active cases in the Dillingham Census Area, according to the state health department.
