Richard Smith sat down with KDLG to talk about fishing in the old days, painting, and his new book Bristol Bay Boy.
Richard Smith is a veteran of the Bristol Bay fishery dating back to the sailboat days. He fished these waters for some five decades before hanging it up, and in the off-season became a dentist, teacher, and now painter and author. He's back in Bristol Bay this summer with his new book of oil paintings and prose called Bristol Bay Boy, which is available for purchase through his website www.RSmithArt.com. He sat down with KDLG's Dave Bendinger for the Bristol Bay Fisheries Report. Listen below for that conversation:

Here Richard Smith talks about who he fished for in Bristol Bay over the years, and what it took to call it good and retire.
