The main lodge building sustained serious damage during last weekend's fierce winds; the winter caretakers were not injured.

The Golden Horn Lodge sits on Michalk Lake, between Lakes Kulik and Beverly in the Wood Tikchik State Park. Some describe its location between the mountains as a "perfect wind tunnel" that channels and intensify north winds.
