Togiak VPSO

Cause still undetermined, and authorities have not confirmed the ID of the deceased from Thursday morning fire.

KDLG: A body was discovered inside of a house destroyed by fire early Thursday in Togiak. Local authorities say the State’s Fire Marshall Office is traveling to Togiak to conduct the investigation.

The fire broke out sometime before 5 a.m., at a residence in the older part of town near the fish processing plant.

When the fire was eventually contained, a body was located inside. It is believed to be a man who lives between Dillingham and Togiak, but the identity has not been positively confirmed by authorities, nor have all next of kin been notified.
