SOS Sponsors Will Appeal Judge's Ruling

Sponsors say Judge Suddock erred when overturning SOS Inititative, and they hope the Supreme Court will agree.

The Lake and Peninsula Borough announced last week that it will not pursue an appeal to Judge John Suddock’s overturning of the Save Our Salmon Initiative. Suddock held that that the SOS Initiative, adopted by voters in 2011 as a means to locally regulate mines like Pebble, usurped the state’s authority to regulate its natural resources. But others will appeal the ruling, and hope to get a hearing before the state’s Supreme Court. KDLG’s Dave Bendinger has more:
