Apayo Moore says many area residents support the idea of smoke-free bars, and she's asking the City Council to make it happen.
DILLINGHAM: Smoking in bars stinks. So says Apayo Moore, a local artist in Dillingham.
Last week she asked the City Council to consider extending the municipal smoking ban to include bars. But a vote to send the matter to committee failed, and the measure quickly died before the Council.
However, as KDLG's Dave Bendinger reports, the idea seems to have some backing from area residents, and Moore intends to keep trying.
