A small structural fire broke out at the construction camp near the Dillingham senior center on Friday. It’s the second fire there in two years.

Firefighters and police responded to a small fire in Dillingham on Friday.

The fire broke out around mid-morning in a small structure across from the senior center. No injuries were reported, and officials say the details of what started the fire are still unknown.

The structure is one of several in an abandoned construction camp called K Camp on Lil Larry Road behind the senior center.

Firefighters quickly teamed up to drown the flames.

“I don’t know what happened," said Police Officer Martin Gardner, who was at the scene. "A building caught on fire — a shack or a shelter. There possibility could have been someone squatting there, but we didn’t see anyone.”

This is the second fire at K Camp in less than two years; a larger structure burned down in the fall of 2019.

The fire department said on Monday that the cause of the fire remains unknown.\
