The young woman died on Sunday after a round trip in a small aluminum skiff from New Stuyahok to Dillingham and back
The Alaska Bureau of Investigation has concluded its investigation into the death of Rachel Hanson of New Stuyahok, according to a dispatch post from the Alaska State Troopers.
Hanson, who was 25, died on Sunday after a round trip in a small aluminum skiff from New Stuyahok to Dillingham and back. Her next of kin has been notified. The bureau says the cause was exposure and hypothermia, and believe alcohol was involved.
The State Medical Examiner’s findings are consistent with the bureau’s investigation; the toxicology reports are still pending.
