Nushagak hunter cited for taking cow moose

KDLG:  State wildlife troopers say they contacted a pair of hunters Wednesday as they were returning from a trip up the Nushagak River.

Austin Waldron, 22, of Manokotak was cited for the "unlawful" taking of a cow moose. For residents in August, GMU 17C is open to hunting any antlered bull. Waldron was also ticketed for hunting without a license.

Waldron's hunting partner John Einhellig, 29, of Dillingham was cited for not displaying registration numbers on his skiff.

An arraignment is scheduled later this month at the Dillingham court.
