Bristol Bay, you’ve harvested 34 million fish this summer, and the catch keeps going. No limits, sunny days, but a few still ask: is it worth it?

The total run to Bristol Bay through Wednesday: 45.9 million fish. Within spitting distance of the Fish and Game forecast, and about five million to go to reach the FRI prediction. Wednesday’s baywide catch 1.1 million, season total 34 – and 348,000 as escapement, season total 11.2

Tonight, we hear from some fishermen who have hung up their waders for the summer and were just waiting to leave Bristol Bay – and we switch gears a little, and take a look at proposed changes to CFEC regulations. Plus, a Bethel reporter fills us in on the lack of fishing in Quinhagak this summer.
