Monday is the first day of school for students in Aleknagik, Clark’s Point, Ekwok, Koliganek, Manokotak, New Stuyahok, Togiak and Twin Hills.

It’s back to school today for the Southwest Region School District. Students in the district's seven communitiesare cracking open their text books and getting a start on a new year of reading, writing and arithmetic. Clark’s Point is reopening its school for the first time since it closed five years ago due to low enrollment. On opening day, it has 15 students enrolled. KDLG’s Avery Lill was there for back-to-school night on Sunday.

Principal Shannon Harvilla helps Kyson Ramondos, 5, put on his new backpack. The village council provided each Clark's Point student a backpack to start the year.
