Commercial Fishermen for Bristol Bay

U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell from Washington State is scheduled to participate in a rally Thursday afternoon in Seattle in support of the EPA stepping in and stopping development of the proposed Pebble Mine. The “Rally for Bristol Bay” will be held Thursday afternoon at 12:30 at the Fishermen’s Terminal in Seattle. The rally is also expected to include celebrity chef Tom Douglas. The rally comes on the heels of the release of the “Bristol Bay Watershed Assessment” by the EPA. The Agency will use the document to guide its future decision making about whether or not to allow large scale mining to occur in the Bristol Bay region.
