Operation Heal Our Patriots hosts wounded vets in Bristol Bay lodge

Samaritan's Purse sponsors weekly retreats out of Lake Clark lodge for wounded veterans and their spouses.

Since 2012, Samaritan's Purse has hosted hundred of wounded veterans and their spouses for a weeklong couple's retreat at a lodge in Port Alsworth, Alaska.

The lodge sits on the shores of famous Lake Clark, at the base of spectacular mountains, and is just a boat or plane ride away from some of the best fishing and sightseeing in the world.

Samaritan's Purse offers the all-inclusive week free to its guests, hoping it serves as a "spiritual refreshment, physical renewal, and marriage enrichment to thank these brave men and women for their service and sacrifice." KDLG's Dave Bendinger visited the lodge on a recent trip in Port Alsworth, and has this story:
