Man stabbed in neck, say Dillingham police

Jesus Peralez, 61, was arrested on a charge of felony assault.

DILLINGHAM:  Police responded to a report of a stabbing at a  Shannon’s Pond Road residence Thursday night.

Officers found a 27-year-old Dillingham resident with a knife wound to the neck. Volunteer EMS transported the victim to the Kanakanak Hospital.

Jesus Peralez, 61, of Dillingham, was arrested after he admitted stabbing the victim but claimed his actions were in self-defense. Other witnesses, including the victim, refuted that claim.

Police charged Peralez with second degree assault, a felony. He was arraigned on the charge Friday at the court.
