Over $2,000,000 Raised Through Pick, Click, Give

More Alaskans utilized the "Pick, Click, Give" program this year and total donations came in at over $2.4-million dollars. The deadline to file for a 2013 Permanent Fund Dividend was Sunday.     Those that filed online were able to make non-profit donations through the uniquely Alaskan "Pick, Click, Give" program. The way the program works is that those who file for a PFD online can donate a portion of their dividend to non-profit organizations. This year 4.7-percent of those who applied for a PFD made a donation. That equates to over 26-thousand Alaskans. They pledged over $2.4-million dollars. That's up 10-percent compared to the amount pledged in 2012. Once again Beans Cafe in Anchorage received the most donations totaling over $119.7-thousand dollars.      KSKA public radio in Anchorage brought in over $112-thousand dollars and the Food Bank of Alaska will be getting over $72.4-thousand dollars. The Pick, Click, Give program has been up and running since 2009 when donations totaled $545-thousand dollars. Donations increased up to $927-thousand in 2010 and they totaled about $1.5-million in 2011.       Donations topped the $2-million mark last year and this year donations came in at $2.4-million dollars.
