Troopers arrest Chignik Lagoon man on child molestation charge

BBBPD

Larry McCormick accused of first degree sexual abuse of a minor for allegedly molesting a 7-year-old relative at his home in August.

KDLG:  A Chignik Lagoon man was arraigned in the Naknek court Friday one count of sexual abuse of a minor in the first degree, an unclassified felony.

51-year-old Larry McCormick is accused of molesting a 7-year-old relative in August. Troopers investigated the case for a month before pressing the charge against McCormick.

According to the sworn affidavit, McCormick had been trusted to watch a relative’s children for a night, having asked to do so while his own wife was out of town. The 7-year-old called a parent in the middle of the night to report the molestation.

If convicted on the charge, McCormick could be sentenced to 25 to 35 years in jail. He was arrested and is being held in custody on $20,000 bail.
