Shakeup Atop the Pebble Limited Partnership

unknown

There has been a major change in leadership at the Pebble Limited Partnership. John Shively has been the Partnership’s CEO since 2008 but he’s stepping aside to take over as the Chairman of the Partnership’s Board of Directors. In a prepared statement the Pebble Limited Partnership says this move will allow Shively to be part of the strategic leadership team working on advancing the Pebble Mine project. Shively will be replaced as CEO by attorney Tom Collier with the international law firm of Steptoe and Johnson. Collier is a former Chief of Staff for former Department of the Interior Secretary Bruce Babbitt. He is touted as an expert in guiding companies successfully through the federal environmental permitting process with a specific emphasis on 404-wetlands permits. His past clients include the Alyeska Pipeline Service Company and Conoco Phillips. In a prepared statement, John Shively noted that the goal in the year ahead is to focus on advancing the Pebble project and to initiate permitting. New CEO Tom Collier is quoted as saying that he’s confident that the Pebble Mine can succeed in getting permitted.
