Results from Tuesday's municipal elections

Tracy Hightower tops DuWayne Johnson in Dillingham, and Pete Caruso and Shelby Boothe were elected to assembly seats in Bristol Bay.

KDLG:  Election results are trickling in from Tuesday’s municipal elections.

In Dillingham, Tracy Hightower held an 11 vote lead over DuWayne Johnson for Seat A on the city council after the polls closed at 8 p.m. Hightower collected 79 votes to Johnson's 68. Chris Maines was unchallenged for his reelection to the council (123 votes), and Tonya O’Connor was unchallenged to keep her spot on the school board (132 votes).

The Canvassing Committee meets Thursday to count absentee and questioned ballots.

In the Bristol Bay Borough five candidates ran for two seats on the assembly, with Pete Caruso (159) and Shelby Boothe (151) topping the list with Tuesday's voters. Bill Emory received 84 votes, Brandi Johnson 54, Randy Zimin 37, and Karl Rawson 21.

For the three year term seat on the school board, Sheri Thomas came in with 57 percent of the vote over Olaf James O’Domin’s 42 percent. For the one year term seat on the school board, voters favored Rebecca Hamon over Desirea Camacho, 55 to 44 percent.

In Togiak, Anecia Kritz was elected to city council seat A, collecting 98 votes. Kevin Ramey was also on the ballot for seat A and received 17 votes. Margie Coopchiak was elected to seat B with 106 votes, and Esther Fayer to seat E with 69 votes. There were a number of people who received a couple of write-in votes each.

In the Aleutians East Borough, Josephine Shangin, Carol Foster, and Alvin Osterback all won spots on the assembly.  Tiffany Jackson, Brenda Lee Wilson, and Susan Osterback all picked up seats on the school board.
