Over 2,000 Students in Alaska Earn Alaska Performance Scholarships

The State of Alaska confirms that 2,038 students earned Alaska Performance Scholarships this year totaling around $8-million dollars. The students will receive scholarships totaling over $4.7-thousand dollars based on their academic performance. Governor Sean Parnell’s office confirms that over 2.1-thousnd students with a financial need have earned Alaska Advantage Education Grants totaling $4-million dollars. Those grants are funded through the State’s Alaska Higher Education Investment Fund. In order to qualify the student must be enrolled in participating colleges or career training institutions in Alaska.
