Original Tapestry Debuts In Dillingham

Terry Fuller

Elaine Phillips, the 2013 Artist in Residence at Kobuk Valley National Park, put "Wolf At The Door" up for display for the first time this week.

By day, Elaine Phillips is a training supervisor for the Community Health Aid Program at the Kanakanak Hospital. But in her free time, Phillips is an artist who enjoys several different mediums: painting murals, illustrating books, designing logos, sewing and more.

Phillips was this year's artist-in-residence at Kobuk Valley National Park, and has spent the past few months finishing a tapestry she debuted this week in Dillingham.
