King Salmon heroin case ends with two year sentence

KDLG: Jorden Bishop of Palmer was sentenced Wednesday to a flat two year sentence in a case involving a large amount of heroin he was caught with at the King Salmon Airport in 2015. He was arrested that June and found to be in possession of 22 grams of heroin.

Two months ago the 29-year-old pleaded guilty to misconduct involving a controlled substance in the fourth degree, in return for the agreed upon sentence.

Bishop has been on electronic monitoring since August of 2015. He will likely serve the remainder of his sentence on monitoring, known as "EM", rather than behind bars. A remand hearing to determine that is scheduled for late November.
