Iceland Air Will Serve Anchorage During the Summer

The inaugural flight of Iceland Air into the Anchorage International Airport will occur Wednesday afternoon. The company plans to provide twice weekly, non-stop service between Reykjavik and Anchorage with a flight time of about 7-hours. 

Wednesday's inaugural flight will include a delegation of Icelandic and Alaskan business leaders including the Commissioner of the Alaska Department of Commerce, Community and Economic Development and representatives with the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce, the Resource Development Council, and the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities. Other airlines that will provide summer service to Anchorage including Virgin American, Jet Blue, United, Delta, Air Canada, American Airlines, Sun Country Airlines, and Frontier Airlines.
