A man from Hooper Bay has been arrested for allegedly trying to smuggle alcohol into the local option community of Hooper Bay.
Troopers contacted 41-year old Albert Simon in Bethel on Saturday as he waited on a flight to Hooper Bay. As part of their investigation the Troopers seized 7 bottles of alcohol as well as 2 large soda bottles full of alcohol. The alcohol was apparently found in Simon's checked bags. Hooper Bay is a local option community where the residents voted to ban the sale and importation of alcohol.
