Dillingham Volunteer Fire and Rescue Dec-Jan Report

The following is a monthly report of activities provided by the Dillingham Volunteer Fire & EMS Rescue squad.

December 12

   4:56 a.m. Woman with severe back pain, Cottonwood Apartments. 2 responders, 1.5 hours

December 13

   6:05 p.m. Traumatic injury, HUD. Call cancelled by police. 2 responders, half hour.

December 15

   6:55 a.m. Chest pain, Muklung Apartments. 2 responders, 1.8 hours

   12:58 p.m. Child having seizure, Aleknagik. Rendezvous with Health Aid at south shore boat         ramp. 2 responders, 2.5 hr.

December 16

   6:26 p.m. Woman with chest pain, Main St. 4 responders 1 hr.

December 19

   6:27 p.m. Truck fire, Atsat Subdivision, Aleknagik. Responded to a fire at Aleknagik with one               engine and an ambulance to assist Aleknagik responders. On arrival truck was burning fueled by  gas from burst tank. Fire extinguished without damage to other property, but truck was a total loss. 5 Dillingham responders, 4 Aleknagik responders, 1.8 hours.

December 20

   11:51 a.m. Man coughing up blood at “Grandma's House” assisted living facility. 2 responders, 1.2 hours.

December 21

   7:28 a.m. Steam bath fire, Nina Way. Structure was very heavily involve on arrival 12 minutes        after dispatch. Fire extinguished but structure was a total loss. 3 engines, 1 ambulance, 10            volunteers. 1.2 hours.

December 25

   11:27 a.m. Deliberate overdose, down-town area. 4 responders, 1 hour.

December 26

   12:16 p.m. Elder with hip injury from fall, Senior Apartments. 3 responders, 1 hour.

   4:35 p.m. Non-emergency transport of elder from Kanakanak Hospital to apartment. 2         responders, 1.2 hours.

December 29

   7:58 a.m. Numbness in hand, HUD Housing. 2 responders, 1.5 hours.

December 31

   1:28 p.m. Call to transport elder patient from airport to assisted care facility. Call cancelled due        to weather (plane unable to land). 3 responders, half hour.

   9:57 p.m. Woman with back pain, HUD Housing. 4 responders, 1.5 hours.

January 1

   6:46 p.m. Woman with chest pain, Windmill Hill.  3 responders, 1.7 hours.

   7:44 p.m. Medevac transport. 2 responders, 2 hours.

   9:50 p.m. Unresponsive person at City Jail. 2 responders, 1.5 hours.

January 7

   6:25 p.m. Breathing problem, 4 responders, 1.3 hr

   7:54 p.m.  Ill, hypothermic elder behind building on Main St. 3 responders, 1.2 hours.

January 9

   3:33 p.m. Severe allergic reaction, Wood River Rd. 3 responders, 1.5 hours.

January 11

   4:05 p.m Transport patient from Kanakanak Hospital to airport for outgoing medevac. 2 responders, 2 hours.

   6:19 p.m. Fall on ice, Russian Orthodox Church, Wood River Rd. 4 responders, 35 minutes.

Jan 12

   2:33 a.m. Unresponsive woman, Tower Rd. 4 responders, 1 hour.

Jan. 13

   1:53 a.m. Pick-up concussion patient being medevaced into Dillingham. 2 responders, 1 hour.

January 17

   5:10 a.m. Elder with breathing problem, Grandmas House assisted living facility. 2 responders, 1.3 hours.

January 19

   10:41 a.m. Elder with shoulder dislocation from fall on ice, Tower Rd. 2 responders, 1.8 hours.

   8:40 p.m. Seizure, airport. Commercial airliner diverted to Dillingham after passenger had apparent seizure. Plane met by ambulance and patient stabilized and transported to hospital. 6 responders, 1.7 hours.

January 21

   9:10 a.m. Ill elder, Grandma's House. 2 responders, 1.1 hours.

January 22

   11:35 a.m. Unresponsive patient, declared dead on scene. Assisted police and transported to hospital morgue. 2 responders, 1.7 hours.

January 23

    1:30 a.m. Fire call. Smoke alarm at Senior Center. On investigation it proved to be a neglected bread maker. No damage. 6 responders, half hour.
