Bristol Bay Fisheries Report July 20, 2016

Courtesy of Katie Ringsmuth

The Bristol Bay total run through Tuesday -- 44.4 million. Will Wednesday be the day we hit Fish and Game’s forecast? While we wait to find out, we fast-forward to the plan for pinks and silvers, and take a trip back in time to the APA cannery in South Naknek.

The total run to Bristol Bay is 44.4 million, just a stone’s throw from Fish and Game’s pre-season forecast. Tuesday’s harvest was 1.3 million, bringing the season total to 33 million – another 381,000 counted at the towers, for a total of nearly 11 million this season.

Tonight, we check with Fish and Game managers about the plan for pinks and silvers, and hear from historian Katie Ringsmuth who is out at the Alaska Packer’s Association cannery in South Naknek this week.
